DIY meringue
General Details:
Age: 6 – 12
Duration: 30 minutes
Suitable for: birthday, class party, free time.
Ingredients (for 50 Meringue):
3 egg whites
1.25 (250 gr) sugar
Parent Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 90 C.
Fill a medium pot with 3 cm of water and boil, place over a bowl Note that the bowl is not in direct contact with the water (bain-marie).
Pour the egg whites and sugar into the bowl and mix until the sugar melts and the mixture is hot.
Pour the mixture into an electric mixer bowl, and whip at high speed for about 10 minutes
until receiving thick mousse. Move to a piping bag that has an opening with a 0.5 cm
diameter.
Activity Instructions:
This is where the kids can help in making the Meringue .
Put a parchment paper on the baking dish. Let the kids use the piping bag to shape Meringue as they wish, then bake in the oven for 3 hours.
After baking, store in a sealed jar.
